For almost 40 years the CNS has provided opportunities to share, learn about and celebrate Nordic culture and history and Canada's Nordic connections.

  • The Government of Iceland site provides links to all of its various Ministries.

  • The Icelandic National League of North America was formed in 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has played a leading role in most public spirited and cultural activities among the Icelandic people in Canada and the United States of America.
  • The Icelandic Canadian Club of British Columbia is one of the largest Icelandic clubs in North America with a membership of about 450 persons of all ages and a cultural center located in New Westminster, B.C.

  • The Icelandic Memorial Society of Nova Scotia was incorporated to educate the public about Nova Scotia's Icelandic past. By sharing the history of the Icelandic settlers in Nova Scotia during the late 1800's, they hope to assist and encourage their descendents and others to preserve this part of Nova Scotia's heritage.

  • The Swedish School of Calgary is recognized and supported by the Swedish Ministry of Education and Alberta Learning and its goal is to teach the Swedish language as well as maintain and further develop the language skills children who already speak Swedish.
  • The Swedish Women's Educational Association International Inc (SWEA) is a global non-profit organization for Swedish speaking women who live or have lived abroad.
  • Naturvårdsverket (Swedish Environmental Protection Agency) is a central environmental authority under the Swedish Government whose tasks include coordinating and driving forward environmental work nationally and internationally.
