Scandinavian Culture

Song/Dance Group - Multicultural Festival 1990

The Scandinavian Society sponsors a few cultural groups that help to educate others on the various cultural traditions of Scandinavia. These groups also help to promote awareness of the beauty and uniqueness of these traditions to those who otherwise would not get a chance to witness them. All of our members are welcome to become involved in any or all of these groups. If you would like to know what groups are active in your area, please visit our listing of various worldwide organizations.

Scandinavian Folk Dance Workshops
These workshops are held for the benefit of those who would like to learn some of the traditional dances of Scandinavia. Sometimes performances are given by the group at the annual Multicultural Festival held at the Dartmouth waterfront in June. For more information, please contact Monica Hayden at 902-434-4778.

Scandinavian Song Group
This group is for those who have a desire to enjoy and promote the music of Scandinavia. Singers are not required to have a trained musical background nor do they have to speak or understand any Scandinavian language. For more information, please also contact Monica Hayden .
